The day, start to finish
Two stops. The ceremony is on the National Mall in the morning. Then everyone heads out to Mauricia and Brian’s place in Bowie for brunch under the tent. Give yourself time to get from one to the other.

1:00–7:30 PM: cocktail hour, brunch, drinks, dancing, and a sunset sendoff concert. Dane is behind the bar.

The War Memorial is on a National Park Service permit with a hard start and a hard stop. The ceremony begins at 10:30 whether or not everyone has arrived, so leave extra time for tourist traffic.
Parking & free shuttle
Park at the Tidal Basin Paddle Boat Parking Lot, 1501 Maine Ave SW, Washington, DC 20024. Look for the white Ford Transit van near the parking lot exit. The free shuttle takes guests to the ceremony and returns them afterward. The last ceremony shuttle leaves at 10:20 AM.Allow time to park and reach the pickup point. Directions to shuttle parking ↗
Reception arrival
Please do not enter the reception area before 1:00 PM or until the wedding coordinator gives the green light.
Stay for the celebration
The formal reception ends at 7:30 PM, but the celebration continues with an afterparty and late-night send-off. Stay as long as you can; there’s no venue curfew at home. Bring a light jacket for after sunset.
Other ways to arrive
Metro: Smithsonian, Federal Triangle, or Foggy Bottom–GWU. Rideshare drop-offs are along Constitution Ave NW or Independence Ave SW. Guests with mobility needs may use closer drop-offs where National Park Service regulations permit. Other public parking options listed on Joy include the Ronald Reagan Building garage, L’Enfant Plaza parking, and Colonial Parking facilities near the National Mall; availability is not guaranteed.
Shoes
Skip the stilettos. Seriously. It’s grass and uneven ground at both stops, and block heels or dress sandals will make your day a lot easier.
Phones down for the vows
Mauricia and Brian are asking for no photos during the ceremony. Just be there for it. There will be plenty to shoot at the brunch.
Adults only
They love your little ones, but both the ceremony and the brunch are adults only.
